Program Overview
The Nagoya University Program for Academic Exchange (NUPACE) is a student exchange program, through which students are given the opportunity to study in Japan for a semester or full year. NUPACE offers a unique and flexible curriculum consisting of a common academic program - Japanese language instruction, Japanese area studies and international/cross-cultural studies - and a wide range of courses in the student’s major field of study. Courses are taught in English.  Students are eligible to apply for Student Exchange Support Program scholarships, which provide a monthly stipend of 80,000 yen and a one-time study abroad allowance of 80,000 yen after arrival at Nagoya University.

Eligibility
Preference given to Japanese majors. Japanese majors are strongly encouraged to complete Japanese 232 before studying abroad.

Academics
In addition to the courses taught in English mentioned above, students who are proficient in Japanese are eligible to register for any course offered to degree-seeking students at Nagoya University.  For more information about courses at Nagoya, click here.  Students studying off-campus in the fall can bring up to 4.5 credits back to campus; students studying off-campus in the spring with interim can bring up to 5.5 credits back to campus.

Student Life
Nagoya University has a wide range of cultural and sports clubs, as well as volunteer groups that provide international and Japanese students with excellent opportunities to interact with each other.  For more information about student life at Nagoya, click here.

Accommodations/Housing
Most students will live in a university international dorm with other exchange students.
